Let's Fight It Together - Cyberbulling Lesson

 

The following page is intended as an aide to make resources more accessible for these Teachers' notes. The lesson is based on a plan by Digzen

 

Objectives (see Welcome)

 

  • To learn how people are affected when they are cyberbullied
  • To think about what we can do to make sure we don't hurt others in our use of the Internet, texting, etc.
  • To find out what we should do if we come across cyberbullying

     


     

    Task 1: Thinking about how electronic media can be misused (5 mins)

     

    1) Write a list of all the ways in which people could be upset by other people's use of electronic media, such as texts, emails, chatrooms, games sites, MSN, MySpace /Facebook, etc.

     



    Task 2: Discussion about what we already know about cyberbullying (5 mins)

    a) Cyberbullying is the term being used to describe the misuse of electronic media to deliberately upset others. Discuss some of the examples which the class came up with in Task 1.

    Task 3: Discussing Video 1 (5 mins)

     

    Look at the questions on Welcome slides 3 and 4. For each slide, decide which question you would like to comment on and if your teacher asks you to, tell the class what you think.

     


     

    Task 4: Discussing the characters in Video 1 (20 mins)

     

    Watch each of the videos below and discuss the questions on the Welcome slide shown, or print the questions from Group Questions and discuss in groups.
